The Company of Unrelated Things

These works emerge from an ongoing enquiry into the relations between image, language and thought. Through fragments of found texts, photographs, diagrams, handwritten marks and incidental traces, each composition establishes a field of associations in which meaning is continually displaced and reconfigured.

Juxtaposition, extraction and fragmentation bring disparate elements into unexpected proximity, allowing new relationships to emerge between what is seen, what is read and what is remembered. The materials retain traces of their original contexts while acquiring other resonances through their encounters.

Each composition becomes a site of potentiality, where the familiar is rendered strange and the ordinary discloses possibilities that might otherwise remain unnoticed.
